The standups are coming, the standups are coming! Come one, come all to the Podman Standup Meetings!

For the past many years, the Podman team at Red Hat has held standup meetings on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. Eastern, and also on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. (Currently UTC-4, then UTC-5 once the USA goes to standard time in the Fall.)

Given that the Podman Project is moving to CNCF, we have decided to move our meetings to the CNCF calendar so anyone can join us; just search for “Podman” there. The meetings will start at CNCF starting on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EDT (UTC-4).

The meetings will be 30 minutes long. We’ll start with a roundtable status from each attendee, then move into End-of-Meeting topics (Post-Scrum) as requested in the meeting chat. End-of-meeting topics can be notes about upcoming events, questions about a particular issue, demos, or other topics of interest. The goal of this meeting is to identify issues and develop a plan to address them, not necessarily to resolve them in the meeting. If you want to dig deeply into a particular issue, we will most likely stop the discussion after a short time and then ask interested people to get together either at the end of the meeting or via other communication channels outside of the meeting.

The calendar for these meetings can also be accessed directly at CNCF here. If you register for one meeting, it should send you an invite for that meeting and all subsequent recurring meetings.

If you want to skip the invite, you can just use the direct video links for Mondays and then for Thursdays.

As these Standup meetings will have very similar content to the Podman Community Cabal meeting, we will hold the Cabal meeting one last time on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. We will be canceling the Cabal meetings scheduled after that.
